The annual Asia Pacific Amateur Championship, which marks its 15th anniversary this year, costs at least 5 million U.S. dollars. The Augusta National Golf Club and the Royal Golf Association (R&A), which are the organizers of the event, have invested tens of billions of dollars over the past 15 years to develop Asian golf.

The reason they are paying attention to Asian amateur players is that they have the potential to boost the golf industry in each country. Until 2009, when the AAC was first held, the Asian golf market was not as large as it is now. The scale has completely changed, however. Korea and Japan are leading the global golf trend, while China, Thailand, and the Philippines have also made tremendous progress.
"Unimaginable things are happening in Asia up until 15 years ago," said Fred Ridley, president and chairman of Augusta National Golf Club. "The biggest difference is the skills of Asian amateur players. Now they have outstanding skills to win in any competition in the world."

The Augusta 안전놀이터 National Golf Club and the R&A provided air tickets, lodging and meals to all participants. It is not just that. The golf course and practice range have been built to the level of major competitions so that players can display their skills and advance to the next level.

An Augusta National Golf Club official said, "We are agonizing every year to ensure that Asian amateur players can play in a better environment. We hope to meet the players who have passed the AAC at the Masters."

Continuous investment by the Augusta National Golf Club and the R&A has been shown for some time to come. Hideki Matsuyama (Japan), the winner of the 2010 and 2011 tournament, won the 2021 Masters championship. On top of that, Kim Si-woo, Lee Kyung-hoon, Cameron Smith (Australia), Pan Chung-chung (Taiwan), and Keita Nakajima (Japan) are participating in the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour. "The fundamental reason we are hosting the AAC is to help athletes representing Asia demonstrate their skills and take the next step," said Martin Slumbers, R&A chairman. "We have proven through many competitions that our continued investment in the AAC has been effective, and we look forward to more going forward."

Players who participated in this year's event showed tremendous satisfaction. "I've been to many amateur competitions around the world, but none of them is as perfect as AAC. Someday, I will make a name for myself as a player who participated in the Masters and the D-Open through AAC," Ahn Sung-hyun and Choi Jun-hee said.
